Zornitza Family Estate Relais & Châteaux is taking part in the „Slow Food – Food for Change” initiative
“Slow Food” is a global organisation established in 1989 to challenge the lovers of fast food and fast life. Together with Relais & Châteaux hey join efforts to combat climate change, to protect the biodiversity of animals and plants.
Our food system is responsible for 30% of greenhouse gas emissions. Slow Food provokes chefs to become part of the change by creating a “Sustainable menu – good for the climate”.
This so-called “Sustainable menu” uses seasonal ingredients and organic, local products from a radius of 50 km, natural wines, etc. It is also recommended to restrict the use of meat products from industrial livestock production.
The Food for Change Festival will take place at the beginning of October with organised picnics, farmers will offer their produce, share and exchange information and experience, and there will be various tastings. There will be cooking classes with chefs and workshops for children.
Zornitza Family Estate Relais & Châteaux will take part in the initiative with a 4-course menu, and products entirely from our own farm. We will organise a tour of the estate with various stops and different tastes: vineyards-wine, garden-vegetables, beehives-honey, farm-barbecue, etc.
